Coconut Fiber Potting Soil

Mendo Organics™ Coco Blend potting mix is a “Ready for Planting” environmentally friendly organic soil-less growing media made in Mendocino County, California. Coco Blend potting soil is an outstanding high-performance organic potting media designed specifically to perform well in all indoor and outdoor applications where an organic potting media is required. Mendo Organics only uses only untreated coconut fiber because we think that it’s a great non-chemical alternative to peat or wood-based potting mixes. We blend coconut fiber with specially prepared composted rice hulls and a blend of powerful all-natural ingredients that are specifically formulated to provide excellent overall performance, consistent drainage and superior structure for your plant’s roots throughout the complete growth cycle of your prized plants. When used correctly, our planet friendly and extremely potent formula does not require additional fertilizing for up to 30 days!

Ready for use!

Excellent for your Veggie Plants, Fruits, Roses, Berries, Herbs and any other plant that can be grown in a container or raised bed. Under normal conditions, you may not need to feed your plants for up to 1 month.

Earth friendly!

Coconut Fiber is an environmentally friendly alternative to peat moss. Rice Hulls are an environmentally friendly alternative to perlite. Pumice Rock requires minimal processing and provides excellent structure and drainage.

Instructions for Transplants

1. Fill clean, empty pot with 1-3 inches of Coco Blend potting soil or enough soil to bring the top of existing root ball 1” below the rim of the pot.
2. Remove plant from original pot and gently release bound or compacted roots with fingers or a hand cultivator.
3. Place plant into the pot containing fresh Coco Blend.
4. Fill pot around plant roots to the top edge of the pot.
5. Gently press soil down around root ball until soil is at the same level as the root ball of your plant.
6. Water to waste with plain water until complete saturation occurs and clear water passes through the drain holes at least one time before any feeding program is initiated.
7. Replace any soil that has been displaced by the watering.

Instructions for Seed Starting:

1. Fill clean, empty pot with Coco Blend potting to the rim of the pot.
2. Gently tamp down with the palm of your hand unit soil is 1” below rim of pot.
3. Sow seeds onto surface of soil following directions on seed package carefully.
4. When required, gently cover seeds with ¼ to ½ inch of fresh soil.
5. Gently water to waste with plain water until complete saturation occurs and clear water passes through the drain holes at least one time before any feeding program is initiated.
6. Mist lightly with plain water each day until seeds germinate and first true leaves appear.
